Our new Division Rd remote has been completely destroyed by a vehicle early this morning. This remote services roughly 50 homes and businesses. We are working to restore partial services now, but it will take some time before we can rebuild the remote. The remote was actually placed well off the road and to the side specifically to avoid this type of incident, because the driver tried to avoid hitting another car they ended up veering into our remote at a very high rate of speed, no one was injured. We will keep you updated as we work through this.

Some signals received via satellite are down. At 17:00 Eastern, Telesat Canada experienced an unforeseen event with Anik F2 causing it to partially become misaligned with the earth; causing a loss of the KU and KA band transmit. Telesat estimation to resolving the issue will be 12 to 13 hours. This time line includes restoring the system, re-pointing the satellite and restoration of the payload to follow. Estimated service recovery will be around 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. EDT October 3, 2016.
